In a rematch against the University of Northern Iowa, the Mean Green softball ended the Lovelace Invitational as the tournament winners with a 7-6 win Sunday morning and finished with an overall tournament record of 5-0.

UNT (7-3) defeated the Panthers (6-3) 8-6 with a walk-off three-run home run in the first game Saturday by sophomore utility player Taylor Schloblocher. Once again, the Mean Green came through late for the win.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, senior infielder Brooke Foster had her own three-run home run to put UNT on top 7-6. Senior pitcher Ashley Kirk came in midway through the sixth inning and finished off the Panthers in the seventh.

Senior outfielder Jackie Miller accompanied Foster with her own three-run home run in the second inning, putting the team on top 3-2 at the time.

This win puts the overall win streak at six games. The next tournament is the Texas Shootout, which begins at 5 p.m. Feb. 20 at Lovelace Stadium against Texas State University.
