Staff Reports

At 2:50 p.m. two explosions near the Boston Marathon finish line exploded, with two dead and at least 90 injured, the most recent reports have said.

President Barack Obama just held a press conference saying that “The American people will say a prayer for Boston tonight.”

Below are tweets from the President’s brief speech.

As the U.S.’s largest marathon, there were nearly 27,000 competitors in today’s race. According to Boston.com News’ Twitter account, about 4,500 runners didn’t finish the race after the bombs exploded.

To locate friends and family call the Boston mayor’s hotline at 617-635-4500. According to the Denton Record Chronicle, seven Denton residents were competing in the race.

Below is a video tweeted by the Associated Press of the explosions. Read more in tomorrow’s edition of the North Texas Daily.
