The Mean Green softball team extended its late season losing streak to six games after getting swept in a road doubleheader to Oklahoma State University. The team was shutout in game one 3-0 and lost 6-4 in game two.

Game one:

North Texas (16-29, 8-13) and Oklahoma State (21-28) were scoreless through the first four innings of play, until the Cowgirls scored a run in the fifth inning to take a 1-0 lead.

Oklahoma State put the game away with a two-run home run in sixth inning to take a 3-0 lead, which was all it needed to beat the Mean Green.

The Mean Green had seven hits, but were only 1-7 with runners in scoring positions. Sophomore pitcher Stacey Underwood pitched six innings and allowed nine hits and three runs.

Game two:

The Mean Green actually got on the board game two, but still fell to Oklahoma State 6-4.

Oklahoma State struck first with a three-run fourth inning to take a 3-0 lead. North Texas cut that lead to 3-2 in the top of the sixth inning thanks to a solo home run by senior outfielder Kat Strunk and an RBI single by sophomore utility player Mallory Land.

The Cowgirls immediately answered back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend the lead to 6-2. The Mean Green were able to score two runs in the seventh inning, but junior utility player Taylor Schoblocher popped out with the bases loaded to end the inning and the game.

The Mean Green will return home for a home game with the No. 5 University of Oklahoma tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
